MU Campus, UM System offices remain closed on Saturday

Intersession classes will not be in session

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Due to the winter weather, University of Missouri officials have announced that the MU campus and UM System offices will remain closed on Saturday, Jan. 12. Additionally, intersession classes that were scheduled to be held on Saturday have been canceled. Only employees who are situationally critical need to report for work on Saturday.

“Due to the storm, we will remain closed on Saturday, including canceling intersession classes,” said Gary Ward, MU vice chancellor for operations. “We remain in close contact with local and state officials on road conditions, and our crews continue their work clearing the campus so that we will be able to reopen as soon as possible.”

MU Health Care hospitals will remain open, although Mizzou Urgent Care and the Mizzou Quick Care clinics will delay opening until 10 a.m. tomorrow. The Veterinary Health Center will remain open for emergencies. For more information on MU Health Care, please visit The Student Recreation Complex will offer limited services. A decision on Sunday’s operations will be made by 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. Information will be sent to media and distributed to faculty, staff and students via text, email and official social media channels.
