Chancellor’s Arts Showcase ‘#MizzouMade’ performances from Mizzou to Broadway

A Mizzou alumnus currently on tour with “Hamilton: An American Musical,” will perform

WHAT: The University of Missouri School of Music, School of Visual Studies and the Department of Theatre will host the Chancellor’s Arts Showcase, “#Mizzou Made,” featuring talented current Mizzou students and alumni.

Bryson Bruce, a 2014 graduate, will return to Mizzou for one night to perform. Bruce is currently on a national tour with the hit Broadway show “Hamilton: An American Musical” where he plays the roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson.

The showcase will feature current Mizzou students in the Show Me Opera, the cast of Songs for a New World, MU School of Music’s Jazz Combo, Hitt Street Harmony, as well as unique art exhibits and other dramatic works and readings. In addition, Niko Schroeder, a graduate student in the School of Music and winner of the Sinquefield Composition Prize, will have the world premiere of his original composition performed by the University Philharmonic Orchestra during the showcase. The Sinquefield Composition Prize competition is part of the Mizzou New Music Initiative and is supported by Jeanne and Rex Sinquefield and the Sinquefield Charitable Foundation.

Sponsors include the MU College of Arts and Science, the School of Music, the School of Visual Studies, the Department of Theatre and the Sinquefield Charitable Foundation.

WHO: Members of the general public may purchase tickets for $5 by visiting the Missouri Theatre box office at 203 S. 9th St. in Columbia or by calling 573-882-3781. MU faculty, staff and students can receive free tickets by showing their university ID card.
