MEDIA ADVISORY: Mizzou students to hold day of service, volunteering throughout Columbia

WHAT: On Saturday, April 14, more than 1,000 University of Missouri students will spend the day volunteering throughout Columbia.

Caring for Columbia is the largest student-led day of service at Mizzou. Last year students served at more than 70 locations throughout Columbia. This will be Caring for Columbia’s 14th year of uniting Mizzou students to give back to the Columbia community.

WHO: University of Missouri System President Mun Choi will address the student volunteers.

WHEN: Saturday, April 14

8 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Event will begin at 8 a.m. with President Choi speaking at 8:30 a.m.

WHERE: Traditions Plaza, MU campus

Service locations include:

  • The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri
    2101 Vandiver Dr.
  • Second Chance
    24687 MO-179, Boonville, Mo.
  • Rock Bridge Memorial State Park

NOTE: If it rains, the event will begin in the MU Student Center on the main floor.
