CALENDAR ITEM: MU’s ‘Cosmic Conversations’ to Focus on Interpreting and Deciphering Comets

WHAT: The MU Department of Physics and Astronomy will continue its monthly lecture series with a discussion on comets. Angela Speck, professor of astrophysics and director of astronomy in the College of Arts and Science, will present “Cosmic Rendezvous – Deciphering Comets.”

The presentation will focus on the composition of comets, their orbits and the Rosetta spacecraft, a robotic probe that became the first spacecraft to orbit a comet.

NOTE: This event is free and open to the public. The observatory will be open if weather permits.
