MEDIA ADVISORY: MU’s “Cosmic Conversations” Continues this Month with Discussion of the Big Bang Theory

WHAT: October’s “Cosmic Conversations” will focus on the story of the Big Bang. In his lecture, “The Day That Time Began,” Wouter Montfrooij, associate professor of physics and astronomy at MU, will discuss the story of the beginnings of the universe and how galaxies emerged from chaos.

The University of Missouri Department of Physics and Astronomy in the College of Arts and Science and the Central Missouri Astronomical Association host the monthly lecture series, “Cosmic Conversations.”

WHO: MU astronomers and the general public

WHERE: Room 114, Physics Building

Following the lecture, participants may view the stars at Laws Observatory,
Physics Building MU Campus.

WHEN: 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 1

NOTE: This event is free and open to the public. The observatory will be open if weather permits.
