MEDIA ADVISORY: MU Science Career Conference to Provide Training and Networking to Life Sciences Job Seekers

WHAT:
The job market in America has improved compared to the gloomy prospects of the past few years. Both life sciences students and experienced professionals seeking employment can gain advantages in the job hunt by attending the University of Missouri’s Framing Your Future: Science Career Conference during Missouri Life Sciences Week.

Business leaders and experienced researchers will provide tips on how to choose between academia, entrepreneurship and industry and build a career in the sciences. Experts will be on hand for discussion and networking following their presentations.

Presentation topics will include:

  • Job Search Strategies
  • Considering Graduate School
  • Resume/ CV Writing
  • Salary Negotiation
  • Interview Tips
  • Entrepreneurship Venture Opportunities
  • Biotechnology Careers: Food Systems
  • Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Careers

WHO:
The general public is invited. No registration is necessary. Presenters from MU, Abbott Labs, Centers for Disease Control, DuPont, Missouri Innovation Center, Monsanto, Sigma-Aldrich and Syngenta will attend the conference.
