MU College of Education Hosts Ed Week Events

WHAT: The University of Missouri College of Education will host a series of education events to celebrate Ed Week 2010.  Events will include a forum featuring candidates running for the Columbia Public School Board, resume building and interview skills workshops, and panels discussing education issues.

Ed Week began in the 1970s and continues to bring together educational professionals and students to celebrate teaching and discuss issues relevant to the field.  Sponsored by the College of Education Undergraduate Student Council, the week also continues to celebrate the school’s events and achievements and makes organizations more accessible to education students.

WHO: All events are free and open to the public. 

WHERE: Various locations on the MU campus.         

WHEN: Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 12

Until March 24, the College of Education will be collecting jars of peanut butter to help the Central Missouri Food Bank reach its goal of 10,000 jars of peanut butter. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to donate to the Food Pantry barrels in Townsend Hall or local merchants in Columbia. The college also encourages the community to give donations to the Books for Kids-Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
