CALENDAR ITEM: MU Hosts Expert for Discussion about Carbon Dioxide, Water Resources

WHAT:  The University of Missouri will host Bruce Rittmann as he discusses “Making Carbon Dioxide a Resource, Not a Liability,” as part of the Chancellor’s Distinguished Visitors Program at the University of Missouri.

The Chancellor’s Distinguished Visitors Program sponsors scholars who participate in academic programs and research and present lectures regarding their research. Launched in 2008, the program has supported visits by more than 80 scholars.

WHO:  Bruce Rittmann, a regent’s professor of environmental engineering and director of the Swette Center for Environmental Biotechnology in the Biodesign Institute at Arizona State University, is considered an international leader in managing microbial communities. Rittmann’s work is leading to new ways to clean up pollution, treat water and wastewater, capture renewable energy and improve human health.
