Mumps is a contagious virus spread through saliva or mucus from the mouth, nose and throat. Early symptoms of the mumps — fatigue, body aches, headache, loss of appetite and low-grade fever — typically appear within two weeks of exposure to the virus. Symptoms are often followed in the next few days by a higher fever and painful swelling of the salivary glands.
WHO: The vaccine is available to any student with a valid MU ID.
